JA VOlunteer Spotlight

At Junior Achievement of Georgia, we understand that time is one of the most valuable gifts a person can give. That’s why we are deeply grateful each time a volunteer carves time out of their busy schedule to invest in the lives of Georgia’s students. Whether you're volunteering in a 3DE classroom, at a JA Discovery Center, or through one of our signature programs, your contribution directly empowers the next generation. Volunteer opportunities in Georgia are abundant—but few are as impactful as those that help students build financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurial thinking. During Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 20–26, 2025, we’re proud to honor all of our extraordinary volunteers who make our mission possible.

In 2024, more than 10,200 unique volunteers served with Junior Achievement of Georgia. That number represents individuals from across the state who gave their time—many of them more than once—to help students build brighter futures. These volunteers supported our work across 20 locations, including 6 JA Discovery Centers and 14 3DE high schools, and contributed to our four core programs: JA BizTown, JA Finance Park, 3DE by JA, and JA Summer Camp.

While the average JA volunteer shift lasts approximately 4.5 hours, some opportunities take as little as one hour. Every moment makes a difference. In total, our volunteers donated more than 76,000 hours in 2024—time spent mentoring, guiding, and inspiring the next generation.

To truly capture the impact of volunteering with JA of Georgia, we turned to the people who know it best—our volunteers. We asked nine individuals from across the state to reflect on their experiences. Each story offers a unique perspective, but all share a common thread: the meaningful connection formed between volunteers and students. If you're looking for ways to volunteer in Georgia, let these voices inspire your next step. Here’s what they had to say.

If you’re inspired to make a difference, we invite you to join us. Whether you have an hour or an afternoon, your time can open doors, spark confidence, and help shape the future for Georgia’s youth. Learn more about how you can get involved and sign up to volunteer today.
