Founded in 1964, the Northwest Georgia District is housed in Dalton. The district serves Dade, Chattooga, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Pickens, Murray and Whitfield counties. The office merged with JA of Georgia in 2003 and is governed by a board of directors comprised of business and community leaders.
During the 20098/2009 school year, 8,901 students in 51 schools, 410 classrooms, learned skills they will use for life due to the efforts of our volunteers, board and staff. We had volunteers from 65 area businesses as well as parents and retirees. In our 5th year of our Hispanic Outreach, 2,216 students and their families received necessary tools for success in the free enterprise system.
