RANDSTAD US, PROFESSIONALS TEACH ATLANTA STUDENTS CRITICAL SKILLS FOR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS

ATLANTA – Employees from Randstad US, Professionals will lead lessons to help metro Atlanta students develop critical skills needed for personal and professional success. Working in partnership with Junior Achievement (JA) of Georgia, the half-day event will take place Friday, February 10, 2012 at Booker T. Washington High School and South Atlanta High School.
Employees from Randstad’s engineering, technologies and finance & accounting divisions will guide students through JA Success Skills, a structured curriculum designed by Junior Achievement Worldwide, to demonstrate the work-readiness skills needed to research, acquire and maintain a job. The goal of this program is for students to develop personal strategies to achieve lifelong learning and career opportunities.
“Junior Achievement programs are designed to bring professionals into the classroom environment to add real-world relevancy to the lessons, provide insight into the current business environment, and enable students to connect the value of education to future success,” said Jack Harris, President of Junior Achievement of Georgia. “This year, JA will reach more than 115,000 students in metro Atlanta schools. This is only possible with the support of volunteers from companies like Randstad.”
Randstad chose to partner with JA as part of their Inspiring Experts campaign to encourage and inspire the next generation of the workforce to enter promising career opportunities in top industries experiencing talent shortages, such as like finance and accounting, engineering, nursing or technology.
“We are thrilled to partner with an organization like Junior Achievement that is dedicated to the future of our workforce,” said Jennifer Becker, Senior Regional Director of Randstad Finance and Accounting. “Together, our hope is to guide these students in developing career plans and equipping them with the skills necessary to successfully achieve them.”
Each school year, JA of Georgia partners with elementary, middle and high schools across metro Atlanta to teach students about entrepreneurship, personal financial literacy and workforce readiness. JA of Georgia is a nonprofit organization focused on youth development in areas of education development and economic development.
