The 10th Annual Savannah Business Hall of Fame was held on Tuesday, October 13, at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. Over 450 attendees enjoyed cocktails overlooking the Savannah River, participated in a silent auction with over 25 items and relaxed to the crooning of the famous Roger Moss. The gala honored the business and community success of three local legends: local attorney and former city alderman Brooks Stillwell, Archie Davis, co-founder of The Savannah Bank, and the late John Luck, who was a tremendous advocate for the Telfair Museum.

The ceremony began with Mike Manhatton as the emcee and remarks from Hall of Fame Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Helen Downing and JA of Georgia Vice President of Statewide Operations, Johnathon Barrett. Camille Russo, JA of Georgia Savannah District’s Board Chair, presented awards to the JA Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Penny Matthews of West Chatham Elementary, JA Volunteer of the Year, Mr. Ryan Chandler from TICO/Terminal Services and the School/Business Partners of the Year, Port Wentworth Elementary and Gulfstream Aerospace. WTOC’s Craig Harney produced videos spotlighting the achievements of each laureate, who gave remarks upon receiving their awards. The night was complete with a champagne toast, given by Shawn Kachmar from Hunter Maclean and Eula Parker from The Savannah Bank, honoring all the Savannah Business Hall of Fame inductees who were present.

The Savannah Business Hall of Fame is Junior Achievement Savannah District’s largest fundraiser of the year, raising over $140k to support JA’s In-Class and Capstone Programs. Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization that believes in the boundless potential of young people, inspiring and preparing them to succeed in a global economy. This year, JA will impact the lives of 8,500 students in Southeast Georgia. Junior Achievement Savannah District is part of JA of Georgia that will serve over 125,000 students statewide through seven district offices located in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Dalton, Gainesville, and Savannah.
