JA of Georgia believes that collaborating with other organizations and educational programs adds significant value for the students involved. This summer, JA of Georgia’s Gainesville/Northeast Georgia district partnered with Gainesville State College’s Summer Scholars Institute. Summer Scholars are middle and high school students. The three year program gives these students a “leg up” for the coming school year. Third year students participated in three JA Job Shadows to learn about each business and the types of careers available within the industries. This year, students went to: the Chattahoochee County Club, where they learned about the hospitality business; Gibson Dental, where they learned about the art of making dental parts; and the Hall County CSI, where they learned about crime investigation. You can read more about this story in the Gainesville Times.
To provide our programs free of charge, JA of Georgia relies on the generous support of our donors.
JA of Georgia’s volunteers are the critical link between the business and education communities.
