Pamela Williams teaches Work Ethics classes in the Jobs for Georgia Graduates Program at Lucy Craft Laney High School in Richmond County. She teaches her students the imperative life skills necessary for success post high school, imparting on them the knowledge that they need when they enter the workforce. She has been involved with Junior Achievement since the 2002-2003 school year.

Williams is dedicated to ensuring her students participate in the JA Job Shadow program, allowing them to connect classroom learning with their real-world experiences. She has a passion for education and makes the students in her care her main concern. Williams recruits students every year who are interested in Job Shadowing and is able determine almost immediately which students would be interested in attending events each participating business. Over the years, she has taken her students on 45 different JA Job Shadows, impacting at least 550 students. Last year, 83 of her students were able to participate in JA Job Shadows at five different companies, and she has already begun planning for this year with the hopes of providing such opportunities to an even greater number of students.

Williams has shown a willingness to expand Junior Achievement into the classroom. She has been the contact person in bringing several Junior Achievement programs into other teachers’ classrooms, as well as her own, for the first time this year at the high school.

JA of Georgia is pleased to announce Pamela Williams as its 2007/2008 Statewide Teacher of the Year!
