It can safely be said that Phil Caldwell, District Manager for Publix Super Markets, has been the “glue” that held the Augusta District program together following several years of dwindling community support and many local staff changes. While the Augusta office was being incorporated into the JA of Georgia family in 2002, Phil helped to make the transition as smooth as possible and to this day remains a steadfast supporter of the JA of Georgia mission. He gives freely of his time, talent and financial resources. This office would be remiss if it failed to acknowledge the profound impact he has had on our local operations. JA of Georgia and the 6,200 Augusta-area students we served during the 2007-2008 school year would like to say "thank you" to Phil Caldwell for his unwaivering committment!

JA of Georgia is pleased to announce Phil Caldwell as its 2007/2008 Statewide Volunteer of the Year!
